About Lumivale
Who is behind Lumivale, an independent UK games review site with no adverts, no trackers and no paid placements.
01What this is
Lumivale is an independent review site for players in the UK. Every game on our path of portals has been played through by us and reviewed in full, with its platforms, what it can cost after you buy it and a sensible checkpoint to stop at.
02Why portals
A good game is a world you step into, and a good evening with one has a way back out. The home page is built like a level in a side-scroller: one portal per world, and a small light that floats over the one you are looking at. The way back out is the checkpoint planner just below.
03Who writes the reviews
A small group of long-time players who between them cover puzzle games, adventures, co-op, family play and accessibility settings. A game is scored only after one of us has played it properly, and games made for playing together are played with other people.
04How the site is paid for
It carries no adverts, affiliate links, sponsored reviews or products. We host no games, run no accounts and take no payments, so no company has a reason to ask us for a better score.
05Conflicts of interest
If a reviewer has a personal or professional link to a game, someone else reviews it and the page says so. We do not accept gifts or trips in exchange for coverage.
06The pictures
Every cover is an original illustration commissioned for this site in the visual style of its game, from ink-line deserts to pencil sketchbooks. None of it is official artwork, a screenshot or a real person. The logo and the little light are ours too.
07Made for UK readers
British spelling, no pop-ups, no autoplaying video and no tracking. Prices and age ratings stay with the official sites, which keep them current.
08Tell us when we are wrong
Write through hello@lumivale.co.uk. Every report is checked, and corrections are made on the page.
